30 arrested after Durban and Joburg immigration protests: who they are, what they are charged with, and what the police will not say
Twenty-five arrests in KwaZulu-Natal and five in Gauteng followed days of anti-undocumented immigration protest in the Durban CBD, Soweto and Johannesburg. The state has confirmed the counts and the categories of offence. It has not confirmed who the accused are, their ages, their immigration status, whether any firearm was recovered or licensed, how many people were injured, or when anyone will appear in court.
