The South African Enquirer is an independent South African daily newspaper, founded in 2026 and published in South Africa.
We cover South Africa for the people who live here. Our reporting takes in politics and public accountability, business and technology, society and communities, developments across the continent, and the culture that shapes our national conversation.
Our purpose is simple. Accurate, independent journalism that helps readers understand not only what is happening, but why it matters to them.
What we stand for
We are independent. No political party, campaign, government institution or commercial sponsor has any influence over our editorial decisions. What appears in this publication is decided in this newsroom and nowhere else.
We do not approach a story with a fixed agenda or a party loyalty. When South Africa succeeds, we report it. When institutions fail the people they serve, we report that too. Honest journalism requires both.
And reporting should do more than set out facts. Facts matter, and understanding matters more. Our responsibility is not only to tell readers what happened, but to explain what it means for their lives.

Opinion and editorial independence
Opinion is an important part of public debate, and it is a different thing from reporting. The Opinion section includes Editorial Board editorials, signed columns, guest commentary and analysis. An Editorial Board piece represents the Board's position. Signed commentary belongs to the named writer. Reported journalism remains separate from both.
Corrections
Accuracy is at the heart of this paper. When we make a mistake we correct it openly, and we say that we did. If you believe an article contains an error, write to with the story and the detail of what is wrong. Every correction we issue is published on our corrections page.
