If we publish something wrong, we correct it and we say that we did. A substantive error, anything that changes the meaning of a sentence, a headline or a number, is corrected openly and recorded here. Typographical fixes are made silently.
Anyone can ask for a correction. You do not have to be a subscriber, and you do not have to be polite about it. Write to with the story and what is wrong with it.
We do not remove an article because its subject dislikes it. We do amend or remove material that is wrong, defamatory, or that identifies someone we should have protected, and where we amend, we say so.
No corrections have been issued yet. This page exists from the
first day of publication rather than from the first mistake, so that there is
somewhere for one to go. When a correction is made it appears here, dated.
