The South African Police Service has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of the ninth victim in a series of murder cases involving women currently under investigation in Gauteng.

The three, one man and two women, were arrested over the weekend by members of the Gauteng Murder and Robbery Unit. They are expected to appear today before the Boksburg Magistrates’ Court.

The Acting National Commissioner of the SAPS, Lieutenant General Puleng Dimpane, said police are seized with all nine murder cases, with each receiving priority attention.

“We remain committed to ensuring that these investigations are pursued with the urgency and determination they require,” Lieutenant General Dimpane said. “Our investigators are following all available leads and are working tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.”

All nine cases remain under investigation, according to the police statement, which is a summary of the SAPS position rather than the court record itself. Further details are expected to be ventilated in court today.
