A second suspect linked to the murder of EFF member Monica Dube has been arrested.

Dube was shot and killed in front of her family at her home in Vahlman’s town in June.

The Gauteng Political Killings Task Team made the arrest after an intelligence-driven investigation. The suspect was expected to appear in the Cullinan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, facing a charge of murder, according to eNCA.

A first suspect, Sipho Mtshali, was arrested in July and has made several court appearances. He remains in police custody while the investigation continues.

The task team has not said what it believes connected the second suspect to the killing, and no further detail on the circumstances of the arrest has been released.
