Social grant payments will land earlier than usual in November, with SASSA moving the Older Persons Grant to Friday, 30 October 2026 and the Disability Grant to Monday, 02 November, two days before the Local Government Elections.

The Children’s Grants follow on Tuesday, 03 November, the day before voters go to the polls on 4 November.

SASSA said the revised schedule follows consultations with stakeholders and is intended to keep grant payments running efficiently and securely with minimal disruption during the election period. National Treasury approved the revised dates, which allowed the agency to implement the new schedule.

A further payment date, Thursday, 5 November, has been set aside specifically for beneficiaries whose grants fall within the review process. Those beneficiaries are reminded to respond to official communication and to attend review appointments when requested.

The agency urged beneficiaries not to visit its offices unnecessarily, saying payments would be processed according to the announced schedule.

It also encouraged beneficiaries to use SASSA’s official communication channels for accurate information and to guard against misinformation and disinformation relating to social grants.

“The agency remains committed to ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive their grants in an orderly and reliable manner,” the statement read.

SASSA said it remains committed to safeguarding the integrity of the social assistance system while ensuring continued access to grants for the millions of South Africans who rely on the support.
