SANDF formations haul it out at Lohatlha as VUKUHLOME V tug of war gets fierce
The Defence Force says the Clash of Formations contest at the Lohatlha Military Sports Centre on Wednesday tested strength, timing and teamwork.
The South African National Defence Force says its formations went head-to-head in a tug of war at the Lohatlha Military Sports Centre on Wednesday, 4 November 2026.
In its own account of the event, posted on its official X account, the SANDF described the contest as the Exercise VUKUHLOME V Clash of Formations Tug of War, and said it was a fierce display of strength, timing and teamwork.
The Defence Force published four photographs from the event alongside the post.
Exercise VUKUHLOME V is the name the SANDF gave the exercise under which the contest fell. The Defence Force did not say in the post which formations took part, which of them won, or how the result was decided.
The tug of war was held at Lohatlha, the Defence Force’s military sports centre.
