Police in Saselamani arrested a 28-year-old man at a house in Mhinga Ville on Thursday, 29 October and charged him with dealing in drugs after a search turned up dagga and three bricks of crystal meth with a combined estimated street value of R53,000.

The Saselamani members worked with Malamulele police and the Thohoyandou K9 Unit after receiving information about alleged drug dealing in the area, according to the South African Police Service.

The operational team went to the house, where they found the suspect, who identified himself as the owner of the premises. A search produced a black plastic bag holding dagga packaged in smaller transparent plastics, with an estimated street value of R3,000.

The search continued inside the house, where members found a blue plastic containing three bricks of crystal meth, estimated at R50,000. All the drugs were confiscated.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Saselamani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 2 November. Police investigations are continuing.
