Justice Department books Sun City for three-day access to justice conference
The department's steering committee met at Sun City on Thursday to finalise preparations for the 11 to 13 November gathering, which brings the Presidency, DIRCO, the Office of the Chief Justice and the State Security Agency into the planning room.
The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development will hold an International Conference on Access to Justice at the Sun City Convention Centre in North West from 11 to 13 November 2026, the department said in a post on its official X account on Thursday.
The department’s steering committee met at Sun City on Thursday to work through the final arrangements. The meeting brought together officials from the department and its North West provincial office, the Presidency, the Department of International Relations and Cooperation, the Office of the Chief Justice and the State Security Agency.

The department did not say in the post who will attend the conference, what it will cost, what it is meant to produce, or whether any outcome document or resolution is expected. It also gave no programme or list of speakers.
Access to justice, in the department’s own framing of the conference, is the subject of the three-day gathering. The post carried four photographs from the department and the hashtags #AccessToJusticeConference2026, #AccessToJusticeForAll and #GovZAUpdates, and described the meeting as the “Final touches” ahead of the event.
