Bridgetown power cut: Cape Town switches off parts of the suburb for four hours on 11 November
The City says the interruption, from 08:00 to 12:00, is for essential maintenance and repairs.
Parts of Bridgetown will lose electricity for four hours on Wednesday, 11 November 2026, the City of Cape Town says, as it carries out essential maintenance and repairs on the supply.
The interruption runs from 08:00 until 12:00, according to the City’s notice to residents. The City describes the work as critical and advises households in the affected parts of the suburb to prepare for the supply to be off through the morning.
The City has not said in its notice which streets will be affected, how many households are on the circuit, or what the repairs involve. Residents who need the detail can follow the link the City published with the notice.
The City’s own statement is the record of the interruption. No reason beyond essential maintenance and repairs has been given for the timing.
