The South African National Defence Force opened the sports week of Exercise Vukuhlome V with an aerobics competition, the first event in what it calls the Clash of the Formations.

In a post on its official X account on Tuesday, the SANDF said the competition was “exciting” and showcased “teamwork, coordination and fitness” among the formations taking part. Photographs accompanying the post show members of the defence force in formation during the event.

The post did not name the formations that competed, give a venue or date for the competition, or say which formation won.

Exercise Vukuhlome V is the defence force’s current large-scale exercise. The sports week forms part of the Clash of the Formations programme, which pits formations against one another in sporting events alongside the exercise’s military activities.
