Pastors and chaplains from churches around Putfontein led a prayer walk from the Mohoba taxi rank to the local police station on Friday 30 October, with SAPS Putfontein and other stakeholders walking alongside them.

The prayers were directed at four things: ending gender-based violence and femicide, peaceful local government elections, road safety, and cancer. A local ward councillor and representatives of various political organisations took part.

The walk formed part of the police service’s Spiritual Crime Prevention programme, which works with church leaders on the issues that come up in a policing precinct. The taxi rank was the starting point, and the station the destination.

SAPS Putfontein released photographs from the event.
