PowerBall carried a guaranteed R50 million jackpot into Friday night’s draw, with PowerBall Xtra adding an estimated R13 million, putting R63 million in total on the board for South African players.
Ticket sales close at 20:30 and the draw takes place at 21:00. The Citizen reported the figures ahead of the 18 September 2026 draw.
What a board costs
A PowerBall entry costs R10 a board, VAT included. PowerBall Plus adds R5 a board. Players can also enter through selected banking apps, under those banks’ own terms and conditions.
The R50 million PowerBall figure is guaranteed, meaning the prize is there to be won regardless of ticket sales. The R13 million Xtra figure is an estimate and can move with the number of entries taken during the day.
