Special votes: day one done, DA tells approved voters to be ready for day two
The party's social media message on the first day of special voting sets out what approved voters need for Monday: an ID, the right station, and availability for home visits.
The Democratic Alliance says the first day of special voting is complete, and has urged voters who were approved for a special vote but did not cast one on Sunday to be ready for the second day.
In a post on X on Sunday evening, the party set out what approved voters need on Monday. Voters must have their identity document ready. Those voting at a station should confirm where they are registered, and the party gave a WhatsApp number, 0600 140 305, for checking. Voters approved for a home visit should be available at their registered address.

Stations open at 8am and close at 5pm on special vote days, the post said.
The message is a party’s own guidance to voters it has been in contact with, and it does not set out the Electoral Commission’s rules or say how many special votes were cast on the first day. The post also does not give a figure for how many voters were approved for special votes.
The DA’s post carried four photographs and was tagged with its election campaign hashtags.
