Police investigate triple murder after shooting in Lingelethu-West dwelling
Three men aged between 27 and 36 were declared dead at the scene in Phumleni, and a 38-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment.
Three men were killed and a fourth was wounded in a shooting at an informal dwelling in Phumleni, Lingelethu-West, on Sunday night, the South African Police Service said.
Police responded to the shooting at about 22:20 on Sunday, 20 September 2026, at a dwelling in NB63. On arrival, members found four males with gunshot wounds inside.
Three victims, aged between 27 and 36, were declared deceased at the scene. A 38-year-old male was transported to a medical facility for treatment.
SAPS said it is investigating a triple murder and an attempted murder.
Serious Violent Crime detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Forensic experts are processing the crime scene and investigators are following up on available leads.
No arrests have been made at this stage.
