MK Party sends its mayoral candidates to the polls, and wants you watching where they vote
The party used its official X account on the eve of the municipal elections to publish the voting stations of its mayoral candidates, alongside four photographs.
uMkhonto weSizwe Party has told its followers to follow its mayoral candidates to their voting stations, publishing the instruction on its official X account on the eve of the municipal elections.
The post, dated 3 November 2026, reads: “Know where our MK Party mayoral candidates will be casting their votes tomorrow as South Africa heads to the polls! Stay informed and follow their voting journey.” It carries the party’s campaign hashtags, #DumelaMoagisane, #SithathaOmasipala and #MasibuyeleBantwini, and four photographs.

The text of the post does not name a single candidate, municipality or voting station. Whatever detail the party is offering about where its mayoral hopefuls will vote sits in the attached photographs, not in the words of the post itself.
The message places the party’s own candidates inside the ordinary act of voting, inviting supporters to watch them do it. For voters in the municipalities where MK is contesting, that is the practical content of the eve-of-poll message: a party pointing its public at the polling stations its candidates will use.
The municipal elections put mayoral offices and councils across the country in play. The Enquirer has not established which municipalities MK’s mayoral candidates are contesting from this post, and the party’s text does not say.
