Build One South Africa’s Johannesburg mayoral candidate, Nobuntu Hlazo-Webster, cast her vote at the Redeemed Christian Church of God voting station in Ward 102, the party said in a post on its official X account on Wednesday.

Hlazo-Webster, who is also a member of Parliament and the party’s deputy leader, was accompanied by BOSA leader Dr Mmusi Maimane, who the party said also shared his reflections on the day.

The party used the moment to push its get-out-the-vote message, telling supporters to “make your voice count and participate in shaping the future of your community” and to “go out and vote BOSA on both ballots.”

The post carried the tags #Nobuntu4Mayor, #VoteBOSA and #BuildJoburg, framing the Johannesburg mayoral contest as the centre of the party’s campaign.

Hlazo-Webster is BOSA’s candidate for Johannesburg mayor. The party’s public position, as stated in the post, is that voters should back it on both the council and mayoral ballots.

The post did not carry detailed policy commitments, and the party’s reflections on the day were described rather than set out at length.

BOSA’s campaign for Johannesburg’s metro government now moves to the count.
