Maimane has voted, BOSA tells South Africans to get up and do the same
Build One South Africa's official account says its leader and MP has cast his ballot and urges supporters to follow him to the polls.
Build One South Africa says its leader and MP, Dr Mmusi Maimane, has voted, and the party used its official X account to tell South Africans to follow him to the polls.
The post, published on Wednesday, 4 November, reads in full: “Marked, stamped, and counted! BOSA leader and MP, Dr. Mmusi Maimane has done his part, now it’s time for you to do yours. Don’t leave your future in someone else’s hands. Get up, get out, and vote BOSA today!”
It carried four photographs from the party and the hashtag #BuildOneSA.
The message is a turnout appeal rather than a policy announcement. Its argument is that voting is the voter’s own responsibility and that staying home hands the decision to somebody else, a framing the party put in its own words on its own account.
The post does not say where Maimane voted, what the party expects from the result, or which seats it is contesting. It names no opponent and makes no claim about any other party.
BOSA’s public pitch has centred on the argument that South Africans should take direct responsibility for the country’s direction through the ballot, and Wednesday’s post repeats that line at the moment it matters most, while polls are open.
