Build One South Africa leader and MP Mmusi Maimane and his family have cast their votes for the party, BOSA said in a post on its official X account on Wednesday.

The party used the post to push its supporters to the polls, telling them their vote is their power and that the day should not pass without them making their voice heard.

“Your vote is your power, don’t let today pass without making your voice heard. Head to the polls!” the post read, tagged #VoteBOSA.

The post is the party’s own account of its leader’s family voting and its own call to the electorate. It did not say where the Maimane family voted, and it gave no turnout figures or projections for the party.

BOSA contests elections on a platform of what it presents as clean, capable government and an economy that works for people who are not connected to the state. Under Maimane, who leads the party and sits in Parliament, it has positioned itself as an alternative for voters dissatisfied with the established parties.

The party’s message on Wednesday was a get-out-the-vote appeal rather than a policy announcement, and it carried no new commitments. Its substance is the same one every party repeats on election day: that the result depends on who actually turns up.
