IEC sets 8 November for official 2026 local election results
The Electoral Commission announced on its official X account that the 2026 Local Government Elections results will be declared on Sunday, 8 November 2026.
The Electoral Commission will officially announce the results of the 2026 Local Government Elections on Sunday, 8 November 2026.
The Commission posted the date on its official X account, tagging the notice “OFFICIAL LGE RESULTS | 8 NOVEMBER 2026”.
In the same post the Commission thanked every voter who participated, saying that every vote counts and that every result matters. The notice carried the hashtags #WozaLGE2026 and #GetUpShowUpVote, and included a photograph.
The post sets out the date of the official announcement. It does not give a time for the announcement, a venue, or any detail on the counting and verification process ahead of it, and none of that is contained in the Commission’s notice.
