Fikeni briefs media on Public Service Commission Act assent
The commission's chairperson takes questions in Pretoria on the Act that now governs how the public service is overseen.
The chairperson of the Public Service Commission, Professor Somadoda Fikeni, will brief the media on the Presidential Assent to the Public Service Commission Act.
The briefing is set for Sunday, 20 September 2026 at 10h00, at the Ronnie Mamoepa Media Center, Tshedimosetso House, 1035 Francis Baard Street, Hatfield, Pretoria.
What the commission has put on the record
The Public Service Commission is the body that watches over the public service, and the Act now bearing its name sets the terms on which it does that work. The briefing is called specifically on the Presidential Assent to that Act, which places the legislation at the centre of the session rather than any single finding or complaint.
The advisory does not set out the contents of the Act, the date the President assented to it, or the changes it makes to the commission’s powers. Those are matters for the chairperson to address on the day.
