EFF buses UWC students to the polls as Cape Town mayor candidate makes final push
The party's official account says students at the Unibell residence committed to voting EFF and that its taxis are carrying them to voting stations.
The EFF’s candidate for Cape Town mayor spent the closing stretch of the campaign at a University of the Western Cape residence, going door to door and urging students to get to the voting stations, according to the party’s official X account.
The post, published on 4 November, names the candidate as Commissar Nolutshungu and describes the visit to UWC’s Unibell residence as a “final push”. It says students “have committed to voting for the EFF” and that the party’s taxis are providing transport to the voting districts.

The account carries the tags #VoteEFF2026 and #VictoryOrDeath, and three photographs from the party.
What the post establishes is the party’s own account of its campaign activity and its claim about student support. The commitment it describes is the party’s characterisation, not an independently verified count of votes, and no figures for students transported or doors knocked are given.
Transport to the polls has been a recurring feature of South African election campaigns, particularly where voters travel between residences and distant voting districts. The arrangement the EFF describes places its own vehicles at the centre of that movement in one Cape Town ward.

The Enquirer has not independently confirmed the number of students involved or the routes the taxis are running.
