De Lille hits the Cape Town campaign trail as GOOD names its ward candidates
The party says its leader has been meeting local election candidates across the city, including mayoral candidate Brett Herron and contenders in Wards 7, 49 and 92.
GOOD Party says its leader Patricia de Lille is on the campaign trail in Cape Town ahead of next year’s local government elections, meeting the candidates it is putting forward across the city.
The party said in a post on its official X account on Wednesday that De Lille had caught up with its Cape Town mayoral candidate, Brett Herron, and met ward candidates Toufeeq Bardien (Ward 7), Suzette Little (Ward 49) and Roscoe Palm (Ward 92).

“Still going full steam ahead,” the party wrote, describing the meetings as support for “the team driving change across the city” and “building momentum for a Cape Town that works for everyone”.
The post is the party’s own account of its campaign activity and carries four photographs from GOOD. It does not set out policy positions, and it gives no detail on the candidates’ campaigns beyond their wards and the party’s general pitch of change in the city.
The local government elections are scheduled for 2026, and GOOD is contesting Cape Town, the metro where De Lille built her political base. Herron, a former mayoral committee member in the city, is the party’s candidate for mayor.

The post marks the party’s public framing of the contest: a city-wide ticket led by a known figure in Cape Town governance, backed by ward-level candidates in Wards 7, 49 and 92.
