DA's election-day push: "Keep showing up to make your voices heard"
The party's official X account spent polling day urging supporters to the stations and reminding them the polls close at 21:00.
The Democratic Alliance spent election day on its official X account doing the plain work of getting its voters out, telling supporters to “keep showing up to make your voices heard” and pointing anyone still undecided to the polls before they close at 21:00.
In the post, published on 4 November, the party said voters across the country were “making their way to vote DA” and framed the day around its standard promise to “build a South Africa that works, for all”. It carried four photographs from the party and the hashtag #VoteDA.

The practical instruction was the same one the Electoral Commission gives every voter. Bring your ID, the party told followers, and check where you are registered before setting out. Voting stations, it said, are open until 21:00.
The post is a campaign message rather than a result, and it should be read as one. It establishes what the DA told its supporters to do on the day, not how many of them did it, and no turnout figure for the party appears in it.
The DA’s position, as the post states it, is that the election is the route to a government that works for everyone in the country, and that its own supporters turning out is how that is achieved. Nothing in the post sets out specific policy commitments, and it names no opponent.

With the stations open until 21:00, the party’s closing message to its voters was a reminder of the deadline and a nudge to use it.
