DA metro mayoral candidates were at polling stations on Monday, greeting voters as they arrived to cast their special votes, the party said in a post on X.

The party asked voters whether they had voted and urged those who had to photograph their inked thumbs and share the images on social media tagged with #VoteDA and #ElectionInk2026.

For registered special voters still needing to cast a ballot, the party said stations open at 8am and close at 5pm on special vote days.

The DA’s pitch to voters was blunt: “Stop the chaos. Start service delivery. Vote DA on all ballots.”

The post carried four photographs of the candidates at stations. The party did not name the metros or the candidates in the post, and no turnout figures were given.

Special voting is open to voters who registered for it in advance. Ordinary voting follows on the main election day.
