Cape Town cuts power in Langa for four hours on 12 November
The City says critical electricity maintenance will run from 08:00 to 12:00 and that parts of several streets may lose supply.
Parts of Langa will be without electricity for four hours on Thursday, 12 November, while the City of Cape Town carries out what it calls critical electricity maintenance.
The City said in a statement on its official X account that the work is scheduled from 08:00 to 12:00 and that the outage may affect parts of several streets in the area.
The City has published a map showing the affected area and pointed residents to further details on its website.
The statement does not say how many households or businesses will lose supply, and it does not identify the streets by name. Residents in the area should check the City’s map and notice to see whether their street falls inside the affected zone.
For homes and businesses inside that zone, the practical effect is a four-hour loss of supply on a weekday morning, covering the hours when many people are getting children to school and opening shops or workshops.
The City has described the work as critical maintenance and has not given any indication that the schedule will change.
