ActionSA's Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate casts his vote, and promises a council fight against crime
The party's official X account says Xolani Khumalo has voted and is ready to take the fight against criminality to Council, without giving a polling station, ward or turnout figure.
ActionSA’s Ekurhuleni mayoral candidate, Xolani Khumalo, has cast his vote, the party said on its official X account on Wednesday.
The party paired the announcement with its pitch for the metro, saying Khumalo “is ready to take the fight against criminality to Council, and bring decisive leadership to Ekurhuleni.”

The post urged supporters to “Make your vote count” and to back ActionSA “on every ballot”. It was published with three photographs.
The party did not say where Khumalo voted, in which ward or district, or how turnout was going. No figure for votes cast, and no result, was given. The post is the party’s own account of its candidate’s vote and of the message it is putting to Ekurhuleni voters, and the claims about what Khumalo would do in Council are the party’s, not an outcome that has been decided.
ActionSA’s Ekurhuleni campaign has been built around enforcement and public safety, and the party’s statement on Wednesday put criminality at the centre of its closing message. What the party would do in Council, and with what powers, is not set out in the post.
